Monterey County Chapter

Calling All Coastal Defenders!

Do you love the ocean?

Are you looking for a way to give back to your community?

Do you have a passion or skillset you would like to utilize for the betterment of the ocean?

If you answered yes to any of the above then you would be a perfect addition to our Monterey County Chapter!

Any inquires can be emailed to:
We are especially interested if you know WordPress and would like to be a Volunteer Webmaster.

We are a community of people who are passionate about protecting the coastline of Monterey Bay. Our chapter helps ensure that everyone has access to a clean and healthy ocean and coastline for everyone to enjoy.

We do this by leading beach cleanups, standing up for the ocean in local politics, and working with partners and Surfrider national to stop sand mining in our bay.

Surfrider Monterey County is very troubled by the recent decision that Carnival Cruises pay a $20 million fine for pollution cover-ups.  Several ships slated to dock in Monterey Harbor this year are Carnival ships.  We thus encourage everyone to attend this session, listen to the information presented, and ask questions.  Join us for the Cruise Ship Information Session on Monday, June 17th, from 6-8pm. Doors open at 5:30pm.

Cruise Ship Information Session Schedule:

  • 5:30pm Doors Open
  • 6:00pm Presentation
  • 6:45pm Q&A
  • 7:45pm Wrap-up

Time to sign up!
