"Plogging" = Jogging + Picking up Litter

Join us for Surfrider Monterey’s first “Plogging” event on World Cleanup Day, Saturday, September 16. We will race to pick up as many cigarette butts as possible from downtown Monterey. There will be prizes for the most butts, the nastiest trash, the most unique trash, etc. You won’t want to miss this fun event combining exercise, competitiveness, and environmental stewardship! Help us spread the word!!

Show up and register day-of OR take care of it now by signing up in advance. https://x.gldn.io/e/HsLcZLMeWCb

Meet at Del Monte beach, Wharf 2 near Dust Bowl at 9:45AM (look for our table and flag).

Instructions are given at 10 AM and race starts promptly at 10:15. Set your timers for exactly 1 hour and meet back in the same spot by 11:15 (allow travel time back to the beach). Tally your trash and butts, and see if you are a winner!

After the event, we’ll be hanging out at Dust Bowl for some tacos and cold ones.

This is a free and family friendly event. Share the love and invite a friend.
