Peter B's Brewpub, inside the Portola Hotel & Spa, has once again partnered with the Surfrider Foundation Monterey Chapter to create something special, Blue Water IPA, a limited-release collaboration beer brewed to celebrate and support the blue waters that define Monterey Bay.
The response has been incredible. In fact, Blue Water IPA is already close to selling out. And a dollar from every pint goes to support the efforts of Surfrider Monterey. Hurry before it’s gone.
Why "Blue Water IPA"?
Clean water is at the heart of everything we do. From restoring beaches and protecting our coastline to our Blue Water Task Force volunteers who monitor local beach water quality year-round, every pint celebrates the work being done to keep Monterey Bay healthy. The Surfrider Blue Water IPA is brewed in honor of the water that connects us all, and every dollar raised helps protect it.
Built on a foundation of North Star Pilsner malt with generous additions of wheat malt, flaked oats, and chit malt, it delivers a soft mouthfeel with a rich body and lasting haze. Bright hop aromatics lead the way with a fresh nose, balanced by subtle sweetness and a smooth finish that invites another sip.
Brewed on California's Central Coast, this hazy IPA was crafted to celebrate the ocean we love and the community working to protect it. Brewed exclusively for the Surfrider Foundation Monterey Chapter and inspired by the blue waters of Monterey Bay, every pint helps support local efforts to protect clean water, healthy beaches, our coastal community, and our Monterey Bay coastline.
Blue Water IPA isn't just another seasonal release. It's a celebration of our local community and the many ways we work together to protect the Blue Waters of Monterey Bay.
Every conversation around this beer becomes an opportunity to talk about beach cleanups, Ocean Friendly Restaurants, coastal advocacy, and the Blue Water Task Force, Surfrider Monterey's volunteer-led water quality monitoring program that helps provide trusted information about our local beaches.
