During our March 2026 beach cleanup on Cannery Row and McAbee beach, we prevented the following from ending up in Monterey Bay:
38 pounds of trash
12 pounds of recycling
300+ cigarette butts!
Thank you to all of our volunteers who made an impact, and a special shoutout to AnaLuz Acevedo for leading our morning beach yoga.
Celebrate Earth Month by participating in our beach cleanup on Saturday, April 25 at 10 AM at Del Monte Beach near the intersection of Beach Way & Tide Ave (also referred to as Casa Verde Beach). All are welcome! Our table will be there until noon.
Want to feel good before doing good? Come early for free beach yoga at 9AM (bring your own towel to stretch out on). All yoga levels welcome.
Friday, May 1 from 6 - 9 PM
PG Art Center | 568 Lighthouse Ave. Pacific Grove
We all love the rain for our coastal hills, but it often brings challenges for our coastal waters. Our latest BWTF testing shows caution levels at Asilomar, Lovers Point, and Del Monte Beach.
Itβs a common pattern on the Monterey Peninsula: positive bacteria results are expected immediately following rain events due to urban runoff. The good news? Our coastal systems are dynamic, and water quality can change quickly as the swell flushes the bay.
Pro-Tip for Ocean Lovers: Always wait 72 hours after rain before swimming or surfing, especially near storm drains or creek mouths.
Together, we protect what we love. ππ
