Blue Water Taskforce looking for volunteers

Written by Kevin Miller | Jun 26, 2017 5:44:56 AM

Monterey Surfrider is starting up a Blue Water Taskforce program in Monterey County. We are starting with testing three sites in the Monterey Peninsula, and plan on growing to test all the beaches in the county. You can help collect important data on water quality and safety by volunteering just half-an-hour a week.

What would I have to do?

Sign up for monitoring on weeks convenient for you. We will email all volunteers with the schedule at the start of every month. On your assigned day for monitoring, you will:

  1. Go to your monitoring location.
  2. Collect a sample of ocean water in two different plastic bags.
  3. Place those bags in a supplied cooler.
  4. Take the cooler to a drop-off location in Pacific Grove.

Seems easy, how can I sign up?

Just fill out this form, and we'll be in touch!
