We have a problem - 700 million pounds of sand are illegally mined from the Monterey Bay Sanctuary every year. It’s mined by the Lapis Lustre Sand Mine. The six-decade-old plant is located on the beach in Marina, California and is currently operated by CEMEX, an international building material powerhouse. Marina City Council hearing on Cemex Sand Mine
The city of Marina is voting on an important resolution June 6 about the Cemex Sand Mine. This is an important meeting to attend for all our supporters.
